Throwing Velocity Camp

Throwing hard is something that will get you noticed, both on the mound and in the field. This class’s focus is all about learning to get the most out of your body and training with the intent of throwing harder. Geared for both the pitcher and position player, this class takes an in-depth look at what it takes to throw harder and maintain control.

Instructors Travis Thompson and Mike Thrun will be leading the PTA Throwing Velocity Camp. Travis has succeeded across all levels of the game and brings his expertise in pitching and catching to PTA. After a successful college career, he was drafted by the Colorado Rockies and spent eight years playing on their team. He later played for the Florida Marlins. Mike has 15 years of playing experience and 8 years as a coach. Throughout his career, he earned three WIAC Conference Tournament Championship titles, a Regional Championship title, trips to the 2006 and 2007 World Series, UWSP’s record for most strikeouts in a game and First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-Midwest-Region in 2008.
